Glycopyrrolate Cream

Glycopyrrolate cream is a relatively new product designed to stop or reduce sweating in the area that it is applied to.

What Is Glycopyrrolate?

As one of the class of anticholinergics, it reduces secretions of the body.

Stop Sweating Without Drugs

Discover the secret
behind your sweating

Anticholinergic drugs have been used in the most severe cases of excessive sweating but they can have side effects such as high temperature or heat stroke.

In a cream or other topical form, however, the effects are supposed to be much less severe and better targetted.

The Cream Itself

Glycopyrrolate cream is available in various strengths, typically of between 1% and 3% of the active ingredient. You won’t find this over the country – you must get this from a pharmacy via your doctor, and in some countries this may be difficult to find.

It can be used on most places where excessive sweating is found, however it cannot be used beyond the hairline.

Does It Work?

The results vary greatly from person to person.

Some find that the cream helps greatly to reduce sweating in the area in which it is applied and may only need one application per week.

Some find that the effect is minimal and other treatments are more effective.

Some find that there are general side effects such as a raised temperature and dry mouth and choose to discontinue treatment.

Alternatives

One alternative to try first is iontophoresis but with a glycopyrrolate solution. Due to the combined effects of the active ingredient and the iontophoresis treatment, less of it is needed and the side effects should be less.

There are also many other treatments available in general for hyperhidrosis. In particular, I recommend trying natural methods first before turning to any drugs. You can find a breakdown of 3 such natural methods here: natural cures for hyperhidrosis.
